HandStory Suite 2.3 fully supports Palm OS 5 devices such as Palm
Tungsten T and Sony Clie NX series. If you have a Palm Tungsten
T, you can use the 5-Way Navigator to browse files in HandStory
without a stylus.

Faster document

If a Clip page is long or contains many image files, it opens
faster now with the new background loading support in Clip view.
Documents are loaded faster with an improved document loading
mechanism, the Incremental Loading technology, in Doc and Book
views.

the list of contents in HandStory eBooks
In Book view, the bookmark icon has been replaced by a new contents
icon (). You can easily access the table of contents in HandStory
eBooks using this icon. User bookmarks can be accessed at menu
-> Marks -> Edit Bookmarks.

Supports 256 colors
image conversion in Clips, for smaller file size
The Convert Images to 256 Colors option has been added to the
Images setting in the Clip Settings dialog box, enabling smaller
file sizes. This option is useful for those who are conscious
of the memory space in the handheld.

New Clip Script
commands for HandStory Script Clips
New commands have been added to HandStory Clip Script. The new
Clip Script commands include commands for clipping Web pages where
an article is divided into more than two pages.

Support for PNG
and TIFF image conversion
HandStory can convert images in PNG (*.png) and TIFF (*.tif,
*.tiff) formats and save them to Palm. Right-click on a PNG or
TIFF file in Windows Explorer to save it to your Palm.

Login
Script Clip
Using the new Login Script Clip technology, now you can clip Web
sites that require your user ID and password. Whenever you update
the Login Clip, HandStory logs into the Web site with the provided
login information and clips the information that is accessible
only by logging into the Web site.

Update
Clips on a wireless-capable handheld device
If you have a wireless-capable handheld device, you can update
HandStory-serviced Clips on the road when you do not have access
to your PC. When you update Clips wirelessly, HandStory Browser
contacts the HandStory Clip server (which stores all updated Clips),
compares them with your previously updated Clips, and updates
your outdated clips.

Support
for Hi-Res+ (320x480 pixel high-resolution).
HandStory 2.2 supports Hi-Res+, which has a resolution of 320x480
pixels and is used in Sony Clie NR70 and NR70V devices. Now, users
can hide the virtual Graffiti area and use the full 320x480 screen
in HandStory.

Backup
Custom Clips
Before HandStory 2.2, Custom Clips added by users were only recorded
in the HandStory preference file; if a user deleted a Custom Clip
accidentally, there was no way to restore the lost information.
Now that all Custom Clips have their own .hsc Clip definition
files, backing up or re-registering Clips after accidentally deleting
them will be much easier.

Send
your favorite Clips to your friends by email
With the new Send To feature added in the Manage Clips window,
it isconvenient to send your favorite Clips to your friends by
email. In the Manage Clips window, choose the Clips that you want
to send, and click the Send To button.

Test
and preview your Clips
You no longer need update and sync Clips each time you make changes
in order to test the new Clip. With the new Test Clip feature
of HandStory Clip Editor, you can see what the Clip will look
like simply by selecting the Clip to test in the list and clicking
the Test Clip button.

Back
button to return to the previous link
When reading Clips on devices that include a Back button, you
can use the Back button to return to the previously viewed page.
If you press the Back button when there is no previous page to
move back to, it will close the Clip and show the list screen.

Clip
to Palm Function is added to the Internet Explorer shortcut menu
Clip To Palm function is added to the
Internet Explorer shortcut menu which is displayed when you right-click
on the browser window. You can use Clip To Palm when you want
to save an HTML as a Clip with texts, images, and links included.
When Clip To Palm menu is selected, "HandStory Converter
- HTML" dialog box will appear and you can select the desired
HotSync user, category, title, link depth, and image conversion
settings in the dialog box.

HandStory Clip
Editor is included.
HandStory Clip Editor is now included
in HandStory Suite 2.1.
With HandStory Clip Editor, users can create their own Custom
Direct or Script Clips and distribute the Clip files (.hsc) to
other HandStory users freely. In this way, Web site administrators
can create a Custom Clip providing their Web sites' contents and
the visitors can enjoy the contents at any time on their Palm.

16 grayscale images
are displayed in 4 grayscale mode in the Clip view.
In the devices that support up to 4 grayscale
image output only, Visor Deluxe or Palm IIIe for example, HandStory
now converts 16 grayscale images in Clips to 4 grayscale images
and display them properly. HandStory Browser 2.0 could not open
any Clip with 16 grayscale images in such devices before.

Remember Entered
Password option is added to the Main Preferences.
With the new Remember Entered Password
option, HandStory can remember any entered password until they
close HandStory or turn off the devices. This will facilitate
easier and faster browsing documents, yet not lowering security
because the password entry will be enabled again when they return
to HandStory. If you want to enter the password every time, you
can just turn off the option.

Loading percentage
is displayed when reading a big Clip
When reading a large size of a Clip file,
you can see the loading progress in percentage at the Go To field
in the Clip view. However, because Clips are designed to be updated
often, the loading data is not saved in the Palm. Therefore, incremental
loading feature in Doc or eBook view is not supported in the Clip
view.

The feature that everyone has waiting for is available.
The HandStory Clip feature will conveniently save contents from
Palm-optimized websites to the Palm device for offline viewing.
Another format, "Clip," has been introduced to offer
for quick access to web content which includes both text and image.
HandStory Clip support High Color Image and 320x320 Hi-Res small
fonts.
With Clip Automatic Update feature, your favorite Clips will be
updated automatically once per day. You can add any PDA-friendly
web site to Custom Clip.

HTML file conversion
Besides gathering contents from regularly updated palm-optimized
websites, HTML files saved on your PC can easily be saved as a
HandStory clip by using a right mouse click on the HTML file and
selecting Save to Palm from the context menu.
