A HandStory Clip is a file that contains clipping rules that
are followed when a user clips information from a Web document. Depending on
the clipping method used, HandStory Clips are either Direct Clips or Script
Clips, the main difference being the format of the original Web document.
- Direct Clips
Direct Clip is the clipping method used when the original Web document
does not require complicated conversion rules to be directly displayed on
the PDA, either because the page contains mostly text, or because it is already
designed for PDA displays. Using HandStory Clip Editor, users can easily create
a Direct Clip by simply setting up the target URL, specifying the link depth,
and setting a few more options.
- Script Clips
Script Clip is the clipping method used when the original document is a general
Web site that requires special conversion to display properly on the PDA.
Therefore, Script Clip rules are more complex than Direct Clip rules. For
a full description on the clipping rules of Script Clips, please refer to
the HandStory
Clip Script Manual.
Due to the difference between the two clipping methods explained
above, managing, creating, editing, and deleting clips for each method will
vary. More details about HandStory Clip Editor are explained below.
